A second wastewater test for Waiheke was due to be processed as Gulf News went to press on Wednesday, with results expected to back up Waiheke’s first positive wastewater test – the results of which authorities sat on for nearly a week.
Gulf News has spent the week pursuing the ramifications of the positive test result at the Owhanake Wastewater Treatment Plant, and contacted Waiheke Medical Centre on Monday only to find they had not been alerted to the result, despite the Ministry of Health having the result of the test last Friday. • Erin Johnson
