Marina developer Kennedy Point Boatharbour Limited (KPBL) has applied to Auckland Council to vary the conditions of its resource consent, slowing the start date for construction in the meantime. If approved, the variation will mean a smaller development at Kennedy Point. 

In February, a senior Auckland Council planner, Barry Kaye, decided the variation application should proceed on a limited notification basis. He directed that eight iwi groups should be consulted, but not SKP Inc or other parties, who have objected and appealed against the marina proposal. • Rob Brennan
