Consent sought for Kennedy Point marina

Promoters of a proposed 230-berth marina at Kennedy Point say construction could be underway by the middle of next year if the resource consenting process runs through calm waters.
Kennedy Point Boatharbour Ltd (KPBL) has lodged consent applications with the Auckland Council and hopes the proposal will be notified for public submissions by early next month.  That could allow time for a pre-Christmas hearing, says project director Tony Mair. With construction estimated to take 21 months, the marina could be up and running by early-2019. • Geoff Cumming
