Goal attack Brooke Foley receives the ball mid flight

Waiheke High School’s U14 Netball team competed at the Southern Cape Sports Tour in Christchurch earlier this month and came away the winners. The girls had three days of matches against South Africa and other southern teams.
SCST was founded and based in the garden route in South Africa in 2011. This was their first International trip to New Zealand. They host various sporting events for schools and sports clubs including rugby, cricket, netball, football and hockey.
Selected players participating in these tournaments are invited to play abroad in overseas tours that SCST organize, giving players the opportunity to compete internationally and experience different cultures.
In previous years the SCST tournaments have included Portugal, Ireland and Argentina. Waiheke Netball Club are honoured to have seven of their players selected to travel to the next international tournament, along with other players from various schools around the country, to be held in South Africa in July 2017. While there they will participate in two significant sporting tournaments.  Waihekean Shelley Robson will coach the SCST New Zealand teams.
The players have been fundraising for the past six months to enable them to travel and compete.  The club would like to thank the community for all the support, including buying raffle tickets, sausage sizzles and sponsorship of their five kilometre fun run.
